First minutes on new private Interlude Server

Hi, here is short fraps material from the very first minutes from opening Dragon-Networks Tarantula server.

Sorry about length of this post but there is a party waiting for me... :D If you're familiar with Dragon-Network custom subclass system then you should totaly try this server. Also if you don't, then you should learn more, and try something other. I was playing a long time on DNs custom servers and I must say there is something about it...

If you are missing old C4/Interlude times then this one is also for you. What I know currently there are over 2000 players online.

This is it for now. Have a nice week and see you in game!

Epics, events, farming and Giran's stairs fun

Like many others before me, I started my journey in Lineage 2 world with a human warrior. You can see him at the first screen below. What is most funny fact about that char? For me, the guy who was playing mostly on private servers with custom weird stuff, and my favourite one was Dragon Network's Nightmare (custom subclass system). I started there and finished also. I made there tens of characters, I think on over 15 accounts, and I'm not counting those accounts with Raid Boss watchers, sumoners placed on most important spots because I had few account with them also.

If I count how many times I've made 3rd classes, DN-subclass quest, retails, nobless quests...  OMG! It took me over 6 years...

Back on track... funny thing about my first character? I've never dn subclass it (at least not on main class), or nobless him. Maybe that is not that funny after all.

There was always something better, or more important to do, but when I am thinking about past, it is pretty weird even for me. In my best days of L2, when I got top items and was able to kill almost every Raid Boss alone (no, not Epics, Core and Orfen was max :D) I was subbing everything I could possibly think off. Sometimes there was some crazy weird ideas like my worst experiment Phantom Ranger / Destro. It was made for fun (at this point of the game I could experiment, and I did). It had some potential but for that kind of subclass it was already too late - frenzy was not working anymore with bows, at least in times when I was testing it, waste but worth a try... :D

Back on track... again... So on my first character which was Hell Knight, I've never made any subclass, but I was playing with this char very often on retail. At very begining when I was just creating my supports, I made it Blade Dancer / Prophet. That was one of most desirable supports in party.

In C4/Interlude it was just amazing, it had some shortcoming in buffs like lack of Vampiric Rage, but still was the best because of Berserker Spirit, Wind Walk and something else. In some later chronicle I made Warcryer / Sword Singer which was just a perfect fit with my pp/bd, right? And with new comes Forgotten Scrolls it was even better then PP/BD, just perfect buffer.

Other then that, when all buffers got those special buffs, and almost every buffer got equal buffs (not perfectly equal but now elmost every buffer gives the same buffs under different name). I think Forgotten Scrolls are awesome, they added some unique and special skills, but also made that every buffer got almost the same buffs.

What I remember from sieges, all prophets job was give Berserker Spirit to whoever want it, and maybe, just maybe some resists, because of lack of buff slots.

Sorry for this chaotic note. I hope you will get what I ment.

Seek and destroy Event (or something similar)... :)

Another Tiat.

Christmas avenue in Giran.

Beleth's Tower quest.

Yeah, I was writing about that Tiat in some previuos post - about guy who lost his Frintezza. And wow I got almost full Epic RB jewelery set...

PK event.

Triplets are going in.

TH/WK was giving ok versus RBs.

Old clan team.

Longhorn Golkonda and DN subclass system

So now you will see some of Longhorn Golkonda screenshots because if you were playing on Dragon-Network servers then you probably know that it's one of the most important Raid Bosses there (for sure it was)!

The thing that makes Dragon-Network so popular in private servers was unique sub-system. Where you could have skills from two choosen classes.

I will tell more about it in the next future posts. At this moment I will just tell about the basics.

There were two kinds of subclassed chars:
  • First type was a combination of two classes from one race,
  • and the type where you could mix two races.
So the first type was considered as regular one. You could exp it like a normal char and exactly like the chronicle was allowing to (not counting here server rates ofc :P, 30x makes server pretty pvp type).

And the second one, the mutants - well in every chronicle it was always little different. In C4 times in normal terms (like official server) you could have char with maximum level equal to 76, to make mutant first you needed to do a 'Retail quest'. Officialy that quest, as you probably know, allows you to take almost any other class as a sub-class (retail). In Dragon-Network after taking 'Mimir's Elixir' quest (yes, the quest for retails) after completing it, if you were over 76 level (actually in C4 times it was not neccessary) you could take a custom Dragon-Network quest for 'their' sub-class quest.

All you needed to do in that quest was killing Golkonda Longhorn, by killing i mean giving it last hit for 'quest horn' or make higest damage for item, tradeable, sellable horn.

You can only imagine that in C4 times, horns price was like 6 top-a sets, and something. Remember top-a was top on server at this moment. So it was pretty costable.

Grabbing a horn in last hit seems like so much easier to take, but back then every spawn of this Raid Boss was like an event. Greaters and strongest clans was always present. It was always a wor for that boss, which was great in my personal opinion.

With so many people around, there were also PKers and sometimes it was even funnier when some of them get killed and drop Zakens earring or Baiums ring, sometimes few thing at the moment. It was rarest items in game, ffs! And they lost them just trying to get poor piece of it. It made this game worth the candle! It was a lot of fun, and made you, you wanted be a part of it in every moment.

Well it was hard to get quest horn, not even mention drop horn. It was only for biggest and best clans. So it's took me a while to earn for that. But the results were just amazing.

In C4 times, again on Dragon-Network, since getting horn was so rare, and there were so many players willing to have (at least) one, so there were like 3 other Golkondas all over the map (localization was changed over the years), but when I started you could get horn in:

  • Wall of Argos (Goddard territory)
  • Tower of Insolance, 11 floor (Aden territory)
  • Angel's Waterfall (Hunters Village territory)
  • Four Sepulchers (Goddard territory)

Later, Golkondas in WoA, and Four Sepulchers were moved to:

  • Tower of Insolance
  • Aligator's Island (Heine territory)
  • Angel's Waterfall (Hunters Village territory)
  • Orc's Village
  • Elf's Village

Camping Longhorn Golkonda (TOI 11) for quest chest.

Cool grass, and moon ofc :)

Teasing me with "he cant touch my chars". There were always some players who thought they can do whathever they want to. But when GM appears he just must show how much power he has.... :D
