Bug with doubled HP

Today I will tell about 2 bugs. They are not very spectacular, but hey its still fun, right? :P Most of you, probably will never experience early chronicles on L2J servers... :) Hope you will enjoy, just like me.

Bug with 18 k HP

Maybe I am totally wrong here, but with unknown reasons my HP limit drastically rais for about 2 times.

Well two times if I count actuall buffs. from about 10k (Condition Buff, Song of Vitality, Chant of Spirit), to over 18 k health points (18.410 HP)!

It happend to me like 2 or 3 times. Once for sure on mine Bishop / Warlock (screens are below), and second time on my lovely archer - Howkeye / Palladin (probably have screeens somewhere, or they might be posted already, have to look for it). In both cases it was quite a nice supprice, especially it always was during some mass pvp. Weird its happened only to me, and sadly it was always only for a few minutes, but me and two other healers were wonderment. :D

Wow, just imagine how powerfull I could be if i actually discover what causes that bug, and what I could do with it... :D That would be helpfull.

Giran siege. Gathering people

Rare view. We had on server only few red weapons, and half of them were no-grades (rewards from GMs for events).

Almost a week of collecting AA.

Bug with wrong holding weapon pose.

I think Anakim is one of the best transformations in Lineage 2.

Budynios is dead. RIP.

Always lack of luck... :(

 Little better.

Wall / Door hack with strider

One more very short post for today... just check out this video.

Wall / Door hack with strider

This is one of my very old videos, uploaded very long time ago. What you can see there is some well dressed guy (in that times :)) standing in front of the gate, being as close to it as he can, and then summon his strider.

What is going on later is stridder getting bugged, it's half way on the other side and it's looks like it's floating? The Guy without any move mounting it, and then pressing Up arrow key on his keyboard. What you can see for a short while is strider is riding in one place (moving it's legs without actually changing it's position), with a guy on his back,

Second short story

What else I can say about that Guy? Well I had an occurrence with him. Actually it was my clan's ally vs his alliance. There were a pretty nice war at Gracia's Tiat entrance. And then, I dont know if he felt like over self-confidence, maybe it was an accident, maybe he was just bored, or maybe he just lost his nerves,  nevermind, the thing is he started to PK random people. What happened next... he was killed so fast that he wasn't even able to use blessed soe, and dropped just a few things... :D

Thing about Frintezza's Necklace in DN

Can't remember now exactly what did he dropped, but the most expensive thing was Frintezza's Necklace. And of course at this time, Frintezza'Necklace was super expensive.

You must know that, back there Frintezza's Necklace was at first practicly worthless gadget for someone who could buy a spare jevelery just in case in olympiad fight he will fight against dark attacks (? sorry, but I'm not sure now what that gives).

Anyways... later GM made it super custom, and in one day from super worthless item Frinteza's Necklace become an ultra expensive, most overpowered and rare item on the whole server!

If i remember well, after chronicle updates, it's again only old Frintezza's Necklace, but it was epic episode.

Now, when you know it was quite a huge loss for PKer, I can tell you who picked it up, and sold it again at market price to the same guy...

I should had somewhere some screens of it, and will upload them if I find them. :)

Introduction

Not many of us know, but Lineage2 game client itself provides some pretty interesting tools. With their help we are able, without any connection to the server, browse items and skills implemented in this version of the client.
Sometimes out of pure curiosity, we would like to see how the monster look like. In this situation it would be convenient to use npc viewer available in the client.

Another time we would like to place on our website, nice screenshots of all the accessories available in the game adorning the head of our heroes.
It often happens that we need to see what bonuses gives a armor set, check how much magic attack have some weapon, or we need to compare couple of armor sets/weapons.

Tools

All we need to do to start plying with game content, is downloading program L2 File Editor (there is a few other programs, but i will use this one). You should't have problems finding it with google.

Before start

Before start editing client files it is recommended that you backup the file you intend to edit, or a whole directorysystem!
During editing client files, the game should be closed!
Note! After changing the settings in the file l2.ini, it wont be possible to use this client to play (unless you will delete l2.ini file and try to make full check)! Client will open in a mode without connection to the server. Therefore, a good idea is to make a copy of the entire game directory to another location on the disk.

How to?

Before we get into the proper viewing items in the game, you will need tp setup few things in client filel2.ini, let's get started...

Preparing the client

1. Run L2 File Editor program.
2. From the left, vertical menu, choose the first option
3. In the new window look for the game system directory, and clicking on l2.ini to open:

Image 3. Click to enlarge
4. From the options list find and change those lines:

Option Default Change to
IsL2NetLogin True False
IsL2Console True False
IsUseCommand True False

5. Properly configuration:

6. Save the changes to the file by selecting [image009.png]. Confirm overwriting a file and wait, till program will automatically close the file.
7. Now we can close a program.

playing with l2.ini file

1. Run the newly modified Lineage2 game client.
2. Game window should look like this (you can use a combination of ALT+Enter, to switch from full screen mode):

Image 6. Click to enlarge
3. In the console we can use those commands:
  • pv - to view items in game
  • nv - to view NPCs
  • sv - to view skills
4. Press TAB button on keyboard to activate console, then type pv, confirm by pressing Enter button.

Image 7. Click to enlarge
From the left window, we can choose a race, where you want to see how something looks. Items from the right, we want to be weared.

Image 8. Click to enlarge
5. Press TAB button on keyboard to activate console, then type nv, confirm by pressing Enter button.
From the list choose NPC, you want to see how it looks like.

Image 9. Click to enlarge

Image 10. Click to enlarge
6. Press TAB button on keyboard to activate console, then type sv, confirm by pressing Enter button.
With this we can see description of any skill, view its animation (also add or change animation related to skill).
8. If you finished playing with this, then press TAB button on your keyboard, type exit command, and confirm it by pressing Enter button. The game should automatically close.

Introduction

Very quick and easy way to get the effect of colored chat is using L2Lige program. It's allows us to edit visually some files of the system of the game Lineage2. L2Lige supports nearly all clients, since C3 to the lastest High Five Clients.
In this short tutorial I'm going to show you very basics of configuring and using mentioned program in practice.
I will explain step by step how to in very fast way setup the most important things in game like highlighting messages, adding sounds to them, getting rid of some of them.

Downloading program

To get this software please visit http://www.l2lige.eu home page.

Configuring a path

First thing after your program package is downloaded, unziped, and first time launched is setting up path to your game system folder location.

After that, and at every time you run program, it's asking about language what you want to operate with. For this tutorial needs we are going to choose english of course.

If you made a mistake, or if you want to change a path couse you are playing on many servers, and have few game instalation on hard disc, you can do this manually - to do this select 'Change directory' button from top menu, and you should see something like this...

changing instalation path
Image 3. Manually changing the path. Click to enlarge

This is actually divided by two parts - upper and bottom parts. Upper part, with huge black button with 'Change directory' caption, shows up a new window with directories tree, which allows user to find desired directory (like at the first program run).
Bottom part, if you select name of the partition where you storing your game instalations, it will automatically search whole partition and find all game instances.

How to?

Now it's time to make closer look at our tutorial subject. But before we actually start editing files, it's better for now to look at next screen and become familiar with common functions related to chat colouring!
Or you can simply select option 'Systemmsg-e.dat' from top horizontal menu and see it by yourself.

1Opens up this tab.
2'Load' button - loads in program SystemMsg-e.dat file. Correctly configured path to the game system folder is needed.

6Color(RGB) input field - click in field area to open the Color Mixer.
7Message input field - select a message you intend to edit.
8ItemSound input field - to set this, you have to know what sounds are stored in client sounds-library, or use already used in file.

10Opens a select window with on-screen positions able to use for message.

Step by step

Task: Change welcoming message content and color.
Type in 5 input field phrase you are looking for. Original message in the client is “Welcome to the World of Lineage II”. So first few words should be enough to find it. Actually I already know that, it is on ID equal to 34.
After you see this message in the window, click on it to start editing.

At the end click on the button 'Save' (look on the 3rd screen).
Wait till you see at bottom part of the window - logs - message:

Save completed. Click here to see more information.
Now you can close window and see our work progress.

Setting up on-screen messages

Basicly all you have to know for setting up on-screen messages is checking option OnScreenMsg, and inserting those related fields like Screen position, Time(sec), SubMsg.
